Walking for a good cause
Horsham Downs photographer Claudia Aalderink went walking this week to raise awareness for a rare neurological disorder – Multiple System Atrophy.
Thursday (October 3) was World MSA Day, and the goal was to attempt to walk and cycle around the world (40.075km or 24,901 miles around the Earth at the equator). Claudia and daughter Isa were part of that, walking around Hamilton Lake with friends Denise and Barry and one or two others.
Claudia says it was a great day, with a great purpose.
“Barry has MSA and this is for him and all the people suffering from this condition all around the world.”
Here’s some photos she took –
Barry and Denise (purple wig), Kellee (Denise’s daughter), Poppy (dog), Isa and I sure turned heads with our purple outfits, says Claudia.

Thank you for that information, had never encountered MSA before now. All the very best to Denise and Barry
My husband also has MSA, diagnosed July 2013. Not many of us in a similar situation in NZ, or Hamilton.
