Fighting rural crime: meeting set
All are welcome to a meeting on the set-up and launch of a local community patrol.
This follows a crime-stop hui held at Woodlands recently, which showed huge support for a local community patrol for Gordonton, Taupiri, Orini and Whitikahu.
At the upcoming meeting discussion will focus on the structure, set-up, time involved, cost, funding, vetting and training, led by Allan Sole, Waikato District Support team leader for Community Patrol NZ.
“This will be fundamental to how we work together to stop crime in our area,” says organiser Jeremy Jones who is also a member of the Orini/TeHoe Neighbourhood Watch.
About 50 people attended the previous meeting and many good questions raised, he said. “Many of us have gone away with valuable new learnings and a solid reminder of how committed we all are to crushing crime and creating safer communities for our whanau.”
