Magazine launched this week!
IT’S HERE! The new community magazine, Home Range, is hitting rural letterboxes north-east of Hamilton this week.
The 24-page, full colour publication is packed full of local stories from Gordonton, Puketaha, Orini and Whitikahu. It has profiles, features, country cooking, history and a seriously local quiz (answers to be found here – but don’t peep!)
Home Range is produced by community website Number 8 Network, based in Gordonton.
Number 8 Network has been serving local news since it was started by Annette Taylor and her daughter Iris in 2011. But it has been a long-held dream to produce a print copy.
Taylor says it’s a team effort – Gordonton District Committee and Waikato District Council supported the new magazine right from the get-go.
As have the many wonderful local businesses, who supported the new venture enthusiastically. (If you call in to one of our advertisers as a result of an ad, do say!)
It has been a real pleasure meeting and talking with the owners, operators, general managers and staff who bring such a range of products and services to our neck of the woods. They and others in the community make this place truly magic.
Stories and news will continue to be served online, up-to-date and regularly on Number 8 Network. You can sign up for free news updates, too.
If you have a story to share, get in touch.
In the meantime, keep an eye on that letterbox and be prepared to take a sit by the fire and check out the new magazine. Let us know what you think. We’d love you to like us on Facebook and if you feel inclined, send an email. Or a letter*! Feedback is fabulous!
Here’s to Home Range.
Many cheers!
Annette
