Local inventor to make a buzz at Fieldays
Caz Warner reports on the latest product from a local inventor.
Weeds. Nasty little critters, and for most of our gardening lives we’ve been hoeing, spraying, digging and cursing them.
Come in Ernest Sanders, local inventor extraordinaire, with a solution to all that.
His latest invention is Weedo, a drill-powered hoe, soil tiller and digger. Ernest has collaborated with his brothers and others to develop Weedo from its original and beautiful idea and has filed for New Zealand and international patents.
Ernest is a retired school teacher and serial inventor who hails from Tauhei. When he’s not inventing he’s tending to his luscious plum orchard.
He’s demonstrated his latest invention at the Gordonton Country Market, and his next stop is National Agricultural Fieldays this month (June 10 to 13, as if you didn’t know!)
Drop by and see Ernest there.
