February market shines

It was a sparkling day, just perfect for the second Market of 2013 in Gordonton.  Some folk began their market stroll with a sausage sizzle –

LR Judy and helper

Or other treats well worth the wait.

LR Little girl

Some treats should be taken home for later –

LR jams

Not all were for eating, by any means –

LR bird puppets

Just laying around

Standing by her work, under the shade of the oak trees (from where a tui was calling as we went by) –

LR fundraiser

Many parents were shown around the market by their young ‘uns –

Some young ‘uns knew all the ropes –

LR boys

LR busker

(Jackson from Hamilton lets Busker Ray have a hold of her new friend, bought just minutes ago.)

LR pumpkins

There’s always time to catch up on other things –

LR nice time

And to chat with customers –

LR bee men

And to smile –

LR nice man

(Even though he didn’t make these purty pottery birds which were on the next stall over…)

LR birds(…here is the real bird maker)

Everyone smiles at the Gordonton Country Market, even when they are a little bit chilly –

And it’s place for good friends to get together.  These two, from out of Hamilton, called by for the first time.

LR lovely ladies

And for the first time, Number 8 Network had a small presence – photographs of previous market stars to give away.  If you get snapped in this Photo Essay, look for your pics at the next market.  Some will be on the tiny table in the Tea House.  If yours is there –  take it home with you!

LR N8N

Thank you Peter and Xenia and Judy and Gayle and Karyn and all the volunteers.  A grand market was had by all.

You’re so right, Donna. It’s really great to see. After taking some pics, I went back, bought some wonderful food, and had a picnic under one of the big old oak trees – everyone strolling by looked very happy.
