First market this Saturday!
Word has come in that the green light has been given to Gordonton’s Country Market.
The first ever market is to be held this Saturday (September 8), behind the old school on Gordonton Rd.
Market organiser Xenia Brown says the last bit of paperwork came in last week, and everything is looking good.
More than 70 stalls will be offering a range of crafts and edible treats, including smoked fish, seedlings, herbs, flax flowers, carved stones, handmade children’s clothes, concrete bird baths and kiwiana art.
The market will open officially at 8.30am, but there is an opening ceremony at 8.15am, she says. The market ends at 1pm.
Congratulations to all the hard workers behind the scene!

Great news. What time is the market on?
8.30am, by crikey!
Thanks for that, and when does it close? What’s my ‘window of opportunity’? 🙂
1 o’clock! (Have popped that wee snippet into the story now, thanks!)
Is it possible to have a one off stall, or do you need to be a regular
Hi Liz, you’d need to contact one of the market organisers, visit http://www.gordontonmarket.co.nz/ for more information.
