They’re eating our honey… there!
Yes, so we exchanged Waikato rain and wind for more of the same at Mt Maunganui this past week.
But our day was brightened when we popped into a shop on the main street and they had a big display of our favourite Horsham Downs honey, complete with little tasters which were whipped onto the counter in a flash.
Tony from Simplifood says Sweetree Honey has only been on sale for about a week and it’s going down a treat. People are already starting to ask for it by name, he says.
Good to see a bit of the Waikato breaking into the Bay!
(Grand shop, by the way. Check it out if your out that way – 237 Maunganui Rd. They had a huge range of gluten free and organic produce.)
It is very good honey, showing my age! it reminds me of the flavour of real honey when a child, 60 years ago!!
That means it’s proper honey, Judy! Forgot to say, Martin and Stephanie have a stall at the Farmers’ Market on River Rd, Sunday from 8am to 12. Nom!
