In full swing
All you need is yourself, some soft-soled, non-marking shoes and you can have a crack at badminton – for free.
After a summer recess the Horsham Downs Badminton Club opened its doors again and is in full swing – and there’s no charge for the remainder of March.
“We opened two Mondays ago and about 30 people are turning, including 10 or so beginners. From high school students to adults in their 50s, everyone is enjoying themselves, on and off the court. We can provide racquets for those just beginning,” says club treasurer Lesley Dawson.
She says all sorts play, from farmers to professionals, and it’s a grand way to keep fit and agile.
The club has trained coaches prepared to teach the sport, racquets can be borrowed and shuttles are provided.
“All abilities and agilities welcome, all that is needed is a willing heart to give it a go. We’d love to see you there at Horsham Downs Community Hall, on Monday nights, 7.30pm.”
The club’s AGM is on Monday, 26 March at 7.30pm – all invited.
