Breaking news on that special subject, food – we’ve just heard that the Hamilton Farmers’ Market is holding an evening market this Friday, at Rugby Park.

That’s because Christmas Day falls on Sunday. So if you need to stock up for the Big Day, it will all be there, all locally grown and made.

Plump strawberries, pots of Horsham Downs honey, fresh dug potatoes (of all varieties) and beans, beans, beans. The artisan breadmakers will be there, as well as many other regulars.

And a brass band will be thumping out Christmas music. How gooder can it get?

The Evening Market is from 4pm to 7pm, at the Rugby grounds, on Mill St.
